Find the right fit for your performer
Start with the performer's height, then check their body measurements and the size options for your chosen costume. A little preparation helps you choose with confidence.
These are performer measurements, not the costume's finished dimensions. Size labels such as S, M and L should not be matched to everyday clothing sizes.
1. Measure the performer
Use a flexible measuring tape and ask someone to help. Measure over light clothing, keep the tape level and comfortably close to the body, and record your actual measurements without adding extra room. Centimeters are preferred; if you use inches, clearly label the units.
- Height: Stand upright without shoes against a wall. Measure from the floor to the top of the head.
- Chest: Measure around the fullest part of the chest with arms relaxed at the sides. Breathe normally and avoid pulling the tape tight.
- Waist: Measure around the natural waist, where the body bends sideways. Keep the abdomen relaxed.
- Hips: With feet together, measure around the fullest part of the hips and seat.
- Foot length: While standing, measure each foot from the heel to the longest toe and record the longer measurement. Tell us your usual shoe size, its sizing system (US, UK or EU), and what footwear you plan to wear inside the costume.
Planning extra layers? Tell us about bulky clothing, a cooling vest or other equipment you intend to wear underneath so we can review the space needed for your chosen design.
2. Check the height chart
The example below shows performer height ranges used on selected VIPMascot listings. Available sizes and fit vary by design. Always follow the size chart and options on the specific product page. Height alone does not confirm the fit around the chest, waist, hips or feet.

Inches are converted from centimeters and rounded to one decimal place. If your height falls between or outside the listed ranges, contact us before selecting a size.
3. Review your fit requirements
Between sizes or near a size limit?
Send us your exact height and body measurements before ordering. Please do not automatically choose a larger size: extra length can affect where the costume's hands, feet and viewing area sit.
Sharing one costume?
Provide a separate set of measurements for every performer. A size that suits the tallest person may not suit everyone else. We can review the group against the chosen design before you order.
